Two-Day Bookbinding and Letterpress Workshop

12 Hours of Hands-On Tuition with Two Specialist Tutors

Materials fee included

Join us at The Armarie Room for a creative and immersive workshop that combines the timeless techniques of letterpress and bookbinding. Over two days, you’ll create a unique collection of notebooks and a beautifully bound, exposed spine journal with custom letterpress covers.

Led by professional bookbinder Rosie-Anne Pinney, you’ll master the French unsupported link stitch—both decorative and functional, allowing your journal to open flat. Printmaker Renee Hadlow will teach you how to design and print your own covers using vintage, cast-iron presses and a curated selection of type and ornaments.

We have allocated enough materials for you to create a collection of three stitched notebooks and a 60-page journal. You will also have extra printed pieces to take home, enabling you to continue crafting your own books.  Additional bookbinding materials are available for purchase if you wish.

This workshop is ideal for anyone who enjoys hands-on learning in a relaxed, creative studio environment. Bring your ideas, and leave with a bespoke collection of handmade stationery.

★★★★★

“I've done a printing workshop over a weekend and Renée was a great guide and generous teacher. She has a lot of wisdom about things printerish and has a very inclusive reassuring way of passing on her knowledge. And I loved using those old presses.”
