In this 2-day summer workshop, you’ll have the time and space to truly explore this art form, learning the essentials of type composition, inking methods, and printing press operation. Starting with small, experimental designs, you’ll gradually progress to larger, more developed layouts, with plenty of room to develop your creative ideas. You’ll print your designs on our stunning 1860 Albion press, transferring your artwork from block to paper in a truly traditional process.

COURSE DETAILS
2-day Course: Saturday January 11th - Sunday January 12th, 2025
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Location: The Armarie Room, Founders Park, Nelson
Instructor: Renee Hadlow
Experience level: No experience necessary. The minimum age requirement for this course is 16+
Limited to 6 places, bookings essential.
All materials and equipment are included in the course fee. Please bring any words, phrases or text you would like to work with.
In the workshop wear closed toe shoes and some old clothes. Long hair should be tied back and jewellery removed when operating the printing presses.
Refunds or cancellations cannot be accepted within 72 hours of the course starting. You can however transfer your enrolment to another person who would like to participate.
The Armarie Room will refund any classes that cannot take place due to low enrolments or unforeseen circumstances.
